We did it!!!!

Our family after the race.

So our race has come and gone and I'm so glad, but VERY sad. Training was actually really fun and such a great time we were about to spend together as a family. I have to admit that I was disappointed in the run. I think there were many factors in this though. Number 1: The day before we were driving FOREVER and we were very irratted and anxious. Adona was throwing up while we were driving, I think it was car sickness, but that made me (number 2) worried about her while we were running. She was being watched by my brother and my parents. Number 3: We ran the whole distance the Saturday before so I knew I could do it and did feel challenged I guess. I have to admit about the middle I was really bored.
HA! All these excuses, but I feel good about the race. Next time I want to do better though. Our time was 2 hours and 32 minutes and more importantly I didn't stop running. We are running 5 k next Saturday and then maybe running another 1/2 marathon in the fall. However family may be here then, so we won't do it then.
After the run we went to the YUMMIEST food at Rodizio Grill. It was Dave's treat for running the race. Then we went to my brother's house to celebrate his birthday and see his new little one.Erin and I after the race. All of us that ran the 1/2 marathon. Dave and I, my sister Erin, our good friend Rachel with her sister (now our good friend) Jaime and her husband Brian. We included the kids, because they had to ride with us for all the training.Rachel and I at dinner, after the race.

Hurray for you! You guys are great. I'm so proud of you and your family for doing this. Wish I was there but then like you said it's the training part that is the most interesting.

I'm so excited to see your post! I checked your blog right after the race for a couple days hoping to see your marathon post but then got busy and forgot to check it so I'm so glad I finally took the time to see! It was there!!! You guys rock and I think you did awesome and should be very proud of yourselves! I'm surprised you got bored in the middle of the race..I think I just had so much adrenalin through the whole thing I didn't even have a chance to think about being bored..I think it was the atmosphere of it being a race and so many people around! But you guys rocked it and I'm so happy that we are friends now and now I know why my sister loves you guys so much!!!
