On October 17th, Dave did his first Triathlon. He decided to do it back in May and in June he injured his hip and has been in pain ever since. So he didn't get to train like he wanted, but we were still so proud of him and he did very well.
Swimming was his weakness when he decided to do the race, but it became the thing he was able to do the most. He did really well and Adona loved his hat. While I was standing in the water to get a picture of him Adona sat perfectly eating a cliff bar and drinking from her camel pack (See the center of the collage). On our way to transition 2 we were stuck in traffic and got to see Dave on the bike and luckily I had the camera ready. (The bike was pretty much all up hill and very steep, not too fun to me!)
We had a lot of fun waiting for Dave to finish. Our close friends Rob and Jaime were there with their family, because 3 members of their family were involved with the race. We got to hang out with them before and after Dave finished. We loved seeing Dave cross the finish line and see him acomplish this. He is looking forward to future triathlon, but hopefully next time without an injury to make it difficult to train.

Wow...way to go Dave! I was planning on coming to do that one too but well pregnancy changed that of course! So did he do the Olympic or Sprint race? I loved doing it here in June and can't wait to train for another one in a little while! I did the sprint though b/c there was no way I would start out my first time doing the Olympic so if Dave did w/an injury than he's WAY better than me!!! Congrat's and what an accomplishment :)
nice job dave!
