Alaskian Vacation Part 2

Of course we got some beautiful weather, but when we were preparing for the trip I kept looking at the weather forecasts and would only see rainy days. Which is really fun for us because we never get rain, but not if we wanted to be outside doing things. A lot of the days ended up being really nice, but we had a few rainy ones. Here is one of the rainiest days of our trip!

This day we planned to be out of Anchorage and seeing some sites that were about an hour away. It was fun driving along the cost and seeing the beautiful green mountains and because it was raining so much there were many waterfalls that formed coming off the mountains.
Our first stop was to see a glacier. Well it was not so big (bottom left picture), but the weather at that moment was crazy. It was raining really hard and windy, so we didn't stay there long. (Notice even the Alaskans seemed cold.)
Our next stop was an Animal conservation. It was a lot of fun and luckily it stopped wildly raining and the wind stopped blowing (just a nice drizzle). We loved seeing the animals in a more natural state. They all had much more area to be in then at the zoo. Most of the animals here had some sort of injury that made it impossible for them to live in the wild. We just barely got to see the bears, they had to call them to get them somewhere people could see, they have about 12 acres they get to live on. We also saw Mouse, Caribou, buffalo, porcupines, deer, eagles, etc.

After our adventure with the animals we headed to pan some gold! It was a really fun place on the way back to anchorage and all the kids got lots of gold specks. Thankfully at that time it wasn't raining and started to warm up.
