As all with kids, our kids were very weird on our trip. Giana, who is normally very giggly was very cranky and needy. (I noticed when we got home that Giana had 2 very new molars in her mouth, go figure.) Adona was very sassy (she still is!), annoyingly shy and needy for me. However by the end of the trip Adona started acting more like herself. Here on one of our last days in Alaska, she was posing for us! My favorite is the bottom left picture.
On our last Saturday we went to a lake near Anchorage. We had to walk maybe a quarter mile to it, but it was beautiful. The kids loved playing the bone chilling water. I'm pretty sure they didn't want to get out. (Notice Adona's silly poses.) It was so beautiful there that we took tons of pictures. So here is an overload of pictures at the lake.
After the lake, Dave's brother took us on a short hike to a waterfall. It was so fun, even Giana started to hike on her own. There was a spot that we could hike down closer to the waterfall. I of course was worried that we might run into a bear or some other unwanted animal, especially when I saw someone carrying bear spray. It was worth it though and the waterfall was much more interesting up close (and cooler).
