This part of the trip was the best, however our camera battery died and I didn't bring the charger, so I don't have any pictures. (My mom is still figuring out how to burn me a CD of her pictures. HA!)
Here is what we did the rest of our time in Vavua:
We wanted to take a boat ride around all the islands and get some snorkeling in, so while I was sending Dave off on his scuba adventure I talked to the guy that ran the scuba shop and he found a guy that had a sail boat that he took people on tours with. It was a decent price, at least once it was transferred into US dollars. This kids were free, so that was REALLY nice. If you go to Vavau, you have to do this. It was our favorite thing during the whole trip.
On the sail boat, they served us fresh fruit and we were able to relax and enjoy the warm sun and the beautiful view. Our first stop to snorkel was by this beautiful resort island called
Mala. This was somewhere my sister wanted to go to and so we were all happy to see it. The snorkeling was amazing, we saw many fish and plants. (Adona was asleep at this point, so it was nice to get out and enjoy the water without worry about her or taking turns being with her.) our next stop was to "postcard" island.

They called it this, because it's the kind of place that you only see on a postcard and don't ever see in real life. I guess the king likes it for some of his ceremonies and things. It was amazing. I have a few pictures, because of the boat's owners took some for us, but they didn't focus. Oh well. You will get the idea. The snorkeling was even more amazing here. There were a few spots where there were a ton of fish. We thought Adona would like to play on the beach here, but she was a little cranky, so she just wanted me. Dave took her kayaking and played with her in the water though.

Our last stop for the day was in these caves, the only way to get into them was by boat or swimming. It was so cool to see the sunlight hitting the water, especially under water. There were not as many fish, but it was so beautiful with the plant life and the way the sun hit the coral underneath the water. I think this was our favorite spot to snorkeling, because of how beautiful it was. Once again I REALLY wish my camera was working at this time!!!
We ended the day with a very spicy meal at this Thia restaurant. It was a lot of food and it was good, we just couldn't eat much of it, because it was burning our mouths. HA! I did get a picture of Dave eating the left overs. Yeah! HA!

Here are a few pictures of us at our hostel too. One is Adona sleeping and Vili fanning her. During this trip they really got to be good friends and loved each other. I can't wait to have them at least living in the US again.

Here is Semisi with the million pineapple skins he had to cut for us. He was so ready for us to leave, because he had so much watermelon and pineapple to cut, instead of just cutting it for my sister. This would be the big reason that Dave and I lost so much weight there. Pineapple and watermelon diet. HA!

This is the market in Vavau. It was right below us. As you can see the produce just sitting out on the street. They would leave it over night and no one would take it. Which is a little maddening when we had some money stolen at the beach. (They can take that, but can't take this. So annoying!) There was some days that there were a lot more roots and other produce out there, but this was the only picture I took of it.

This was the view from our hostel. Very pretty. Just ignore the garbage that they throw everywhere. HA!!

This is the Vavau airport. What you see is what you get. HA!! It was fun to see such small airports.

When we were in Vavau my Dad made friends with this family that had a BBQ. It was totally Tongan food and the only thing that was new was the salad. (Which has inspired new salads that I would eat every day when we got home.) It had tomatoes, cucumbers, a tiny bit of lettuce, onions, and mayo for dressing. It was really good and minus the mayo we have ate it a lot that first 2 weeks home. (We put lime on it instead of mayo.) I was kind of grossed out by this because this was lamb and it was so gross and fatty. I would not eat it, but Adona found it on a plate and was chewing on it for a little while.
