Happy 4th of July!!

So I know that I am like 6 days late, but we have been out of town. Let me catch everyone up on our adventures.
Since our friends the McCracken's moved to Logan a little over a year ago, we have been wanting to visit. We had been planning on going the 4th for a while, but then thought we were going to be able to up until about a month ago. We have been looking forward to it. Let me tell you about the trip.
Rachel and I left Wednesday morning with Adona and Zoe (Rachel's niece). Everything we going well until Zoe got a little car sick. An hour later we were airing out the car and back on the road, saying by to the DVD playing that was on her lap. (I'm sorry Rach!) Adona however did not cry once. She let me know that she wanted more grapes or crackers, but that was it. She slept a bunch, but for a 7 hour drive (that turned out longer) she was a perfect angel! (I love her!!!!) We got there at about 5.
Adam, Dave, and Jordan however didn't leave until 5:30, so they didn't get to Logan until 2 in the morning. Dave was miserable the next day, because he was so tired.
The next day we went on a beautiful hike, that had a REALLY steep hill. Adona enjoyed the walking she got to do on the flatter areas. We then came back and napped, at least Dave and Adona did. I was making a Strawberry Shortcake truffle and some cheddar bacon hamburgers. We had a BBQ that night with all of Rachel's family and watched the fireworks in Logan. I guess they do them the day before for some reason. It was great, because Rachel's sister's house it on a hill and we could see them from their backyard.
On Friday we went to Bear Lake. YEAH! Jaimee and her husband Brian (Rachel's sister) own a rental company there called Bear Lake Fun time. They rent out jet skis and boats, along with some cabins. Brian saved a couple of jet skis for us and got a boat, along with sending out his employee to save a spot for us to set up our stuff. It all started out really good, but soon after trying to get Adona to play in the sand and water, we noticed that she was not herself. The whole day she was on our laps sleeping or just looking around. I had notice she was warm (fever) before we left, so I gave her some Tylenol before we left, but I thought it was her teeth. (She is getting a new one.) As the day went on she just got more tired. At one point I was sitting next to Rachel who was holding her and she didn't care at all. It was also a windy day, so we decided to make our stay end around 5 instead of staying for the fireworks. We got her home and she then started to feel better, but still not herself.
On Saturday Adona felt better, but we still not herself. We still were able to do somethings though. We went to American Heritage. It was a lot of fun. They had different areas around the park, such as barns, tee pees, old farm houses, etc. It was a lot of fun, because they had people there to teach you about the different types of people that were here a long time ago. We had an Native American women showing us how they use to make their food and let us taste something that was pretty close to it. They has had a petting zoo with different farm animals. Adona liked it, but she didn't really get down and play like she normally would. We then went to a community pool that had a kids area with a water mushroom and buckets that would dump. They also had water slides that the other kids went on. Adona finally started acting better in the water, but it didn't last very long.
We all ended up feeling sick, because of the cotton that was flying around at Bear Lake. It was kind of funny, because we were the only ones sick and just weren't ourselves the whole trip. We were pathetic! HA! With all of that though we had so much fun and I didn't want it to end. Thank you Jaimee and Brian for letting us stay with you. We had so much fun!!! Also thank you Penning family for letting us be a part of your vacation.

Yeah, they really were the most pathetic ones--:) The running joke was that Jordan was the only "DeMarco" that felt normal. He laughed and laughed at that one. Of course, I didn't feel far behind them. Misery loves company, right?

Regardless, we packed a ton of stuff into a few short days--we're so glad you made the trip with us. Three for three--where do we go next July? Mt. Adams anyone?
