As with many families, we had the girls pick a present out for each other. It was so fun to see what they chose. Adona had a little bit of a harder time remembering the present needed to be something that Giana wanted, not herself. However in the end she picked something perfect for her sister. Giana also found something that Adona would really love and represents Adona this year.
Here the girls are "helping" wrap their presents for each other.
Something we ended up doing out of necessity this year was helping Dave's sister make stockings for her family. She couldn't find them before they come up here, so with all my left over felt from last year's projects we made them each a stocking. In the end the girls all made their own and I only sewed a few of the stockings. They turned out so cute and personal! I wish we could do this every year, because it was so fun.
As tradition the girls opened their Christmas PJs at grandma. Even though they had seen them as I was making them, they were still very excited.

Our last and favorite tradition is acting out the nativity story. Adona really wanted to be Mary, however her older cousin that usually isn't here for this part also really wanted to. She was very kind though and didn't mind sharing the role with her. We had an older and younger Mary and Joseph this year. Adona took her role very seriously! Giana didn't really care and I asked her if she was a dog and she said yes. I then taught her how to act it out. We sang songs and heard the Christmas story read by Dave's mom.
Since Adona was so serious about her Mary roll, she said some funny things. Here are my favorites.
During the story we were singing a song Adona said to Katelyn (who was the donkey) "No, donkeys don't sing, you can't sing."
We decided to have a singing Frosty for the baby Jesus this year and while grandma was reading the story Adona said, "The baby Jesus can sing, I'm going to have him sing." (I was able to stop her before she pushed the button.)
And my favorite quote from Adona was during the end of the story out of no where she yells, "I got to go potty!! I got to go potty!"
All in all this was my favorite Christmas. Each year the girls make it that much more enjoyable! I love seeing Christmas through their eyes.
